There’s More…
There’s a lot more to me than marketing!
In 2018, I received a grant from Great Plains Publishing and the Canada Council for the Arts to translate Stéphanie Boulay’s À l’abri des hommes et des choses into English. The full book-length translation was published in April 2019 under the title Where the Waters Meet.
Since 2021, I have been a seasonal volunteer editor with Community Literature Initiative, a non-profit based in Los Angeles that teaches writers of color how to write and publish books. As part of their Poetry Publishing Class, I meet and collaborate with approximately 20 writer-students a year to help proofread and edit their manuscripts for eventual publication.
I also work closely with authors at World Stage Press—affiliated with Community Literature and dedicated to Black literature and increasing these writers’ visibility—to edit manuscripts that are further along in the publication process.
By the way…
In 2017, I wrote my Master’s thesis about the translation of erotic literature.
